WHAT ARE HEAT SHRINK WIRE BUTT CONNECTORS?

Heat shrink butt connectors are adhesive meltable glue lined wire terminals that seal to the wires when heated. These give your wire connection a long lasting professional crimp and seal.

Our connectors are ideal for marine, automotive, or any splicing application where strength and durability is desired. These shrink terminals are designed to fit stranded copper wire in various gauge (AWG) sizes.

WHAT TOOLS DO I NEED?

For the crimp style connectors, we recommend using a crimper tool designed specifically for heat shrink butt connectors. These crimpers will not puncture through the heat shrink sleeve. After crimping both sides of the connector, use a heat gun to shrink down the sleeve around the wire. This releases the adhesive creating a waterproof seal. Be careful not to hold the heat gun too close as you could scorch the connector and wire. For the solder seal connectors all that is needed is a heat gun. After stripping the wires about 1/4", insert the ends into the connector.  Use a heat gun to shrink down the tubing and to release the adhesive to create a solid, waterproof connection. A lighter can be used in place of a heat gun, though use caution not to burn the wiring.
